Meet the Woodland Hills Team Behind Benson ADU Woodland Hills
Every ADU, home addition, and room addition we build in Woodland Hills starts with the same thing: people who show up on time, know what they’re doing, and treat your backyard like it’s their own. Our crew is small by design. Troy Eastman, the owner, has spent years assembling a team where each person actually enjoys the craft of building accessory dwelling units. No rotating subcontractors you’ll never see again. No job-site mystery guests. You’ll know every face on your project by name, and each one is background-checked, uniformed, and accountable to the same written guarantee that governs every Benson ADU project across California.
Our People

Troy Eastman – Owner & Lead Builder
Troy Eastman founded the Woodland Hills location of Benson ADU after years of watching homeowners get burned by vague estimates and contractors who treated a $200,000 ADU like a side project. He’s the one who walks every job site during framing, inspects every setback line before concrete gets poured, and personally signs off on the written price before a single board is delivered. His dry humor on the job is famous: ask him about the permitting process and he’ll tell you it ages like fine wine, slowly and sometimes painfully. Troy is a licensed and insured general contractor who’s built everything from compact JADUs under 500 square feet to full two-story additions, and he still insists on reviewing every change order himself. When he’s not on site, he’s studying prefab specifications from Abodu, Cover, and Dvele so the team can give you real options, not a single take-it-or-leave-it product.
Marcus D. – Senior Installer
Marcus has been setting prefab panels and framing room additions for over a decade, and he’s the reason our joints line up the way they do. He’s certified on Boxabl and Plant Prefab installation systems and holds a current OSHA 30 card, which means he’s trained to spot site hazards before they become problems. Marcus is the guy who walks the property line with a laser level and mutters about slopes and drainage until everything’s dialed in. He has a habit of drawing layout sketches on scrap lumber to show homeowners exactly how a setback works, which has saved more than one family from a costly redo. Outside of work, he builds custom furniture in his garage and will absolutely tell you about the joinery on your new kitchen cabinets if you ask.
Elena R. – Service Coordinator
Elena is the person you’ll talk to when you call (559) 282-2291, and she’s been coordinating builds in the Los Angeles area for seven years. She tracks every permit submittal, schedules inspections, and makes sure the written price you received is the same number on your final invoice. Elena is obsessive about communication: if a delivery from Mighty Buildings or Tuff Shed shifts by an afternoon, you’ll know about it before you have to ask. She speaks fluent Spanish and English, which helps on job sites and in city offices alike. Her desk is covered in color-coded calendars, and she still answers the phone like a human being, not a recording. If you want to know exactly what your project timeline looks like, she’ll walk you through it day by day.
Danny T. – Apprentice Builder
Danny joined the crew two years ago after finishing trade school, and he’s the one you’ll see hauling materials, learning framing, and asking Marcus a hundred questions a day. He’s working toward his own certification on James Hardie cladding installation and already handles a lot of the finish work on Tuff Shed conversions and smaller JADU projects. Danny grew up in a house his dad added onto three times, so he understands the chaos of living through construction and goes out of his way to keep job sites clean at the end of every day. He’s the first one there in the morning and usually the last to leave. Give him a few years, and he’ll be running his own crew.
One Standard, Every Job
Benson ADU is part of the Relay Home Co. family, founded in 2006, and while each location is independently owned and operated, we all work under the same promise: a written price before any work starts, a 365-Day Done Right Promise, a written guarantee on every project, and a free second visit if any covered repair fails. That standard doesn’t exist on paper only. Troy enforces it on every site, every week. If something isn’t right, we make it right. The written guarantee isn’t a marketing tagline; it’s stamped on your project paperwork and it binds us for a full year. That’s what keeps our background-checked, uniformed team accountable, and it’s why we can tell you the price before you ever commit to anything. Call us at (559) 282-2291 and you’ll get a live person, a straight answer, and a real number.
